FAQ
How do I enable developer mode on my Meta glasses?
Developer mode lets your glasses run third-party apps through Meta's Wearables Device Access Toolkit. You set it in the Meta AI app on your phone:
- 1. Update your glasses first. In the Meta AI app open the Devices tab (the glasses icon), pick your glasses, and check General → About → Version — you need glasses software v20.0 or newer.
- 2. In the Meta AI app go to Settings → App Info.
- 3. Tap the App version number five times — a Developer Mode toggle appears.
- 4. Turn the toggle on and tap Enable to confirm.
Supported glasses: Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 1 & Gen 2) and Oakley Meta HSTN. Official guide: Meta Wearables Developer Center.
Accessing your Web App on Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses
In the Meta AI app, after you've enabled Developer Mode (see above):
- 1. Tap App Settings (left panel) → App Connections.
- 2. Select Web Apps → Add a Web App.
- 3. Add an app name and your URL.
- 4. Tap Connect.
Your Web App appears immediately at the bottom of your Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses app grid — you can then pin it for easier access. Select your Web App in MRBD to launch it. Once in the Web App you can use up/down/left/right swipes and index pinch or tap. A middle pinch surfaces a universal Web App menu with:
- A Restart button to reload the Web app.
- A Resume button to return to the Web app.
- A Permissions button to manage permissions (if necessary).
